Morrisons is selling hot cross bun flavoured fudge for Easter

YOU may have heard of hot cross buns with fudge baked into them but have you ever had hot cross bun flavoured fudge?

Morrisons is selling the sweet treats for the first time this year - and they taste amazing.

The fudge is made with Italian orange and lemon peel, sultanas and a sprinkling of cinnamon spice.

We've managed to get out hands on a box of the butter fudge and can confirm that they taste as good as they sound.

The smooth fudge is sweet and fruity with a cinnamon punch - although you won't want to eat too many because they become quite sickly.

The treats are part of their premium range and cost . The posh packaging is good enough to give a box as a gift.

But they're not pretty for the waistline, with one box packing in almost 680 calories - which is as much as an average dinner only without the vegetables.

At the moment, we've only been able to find artisan confectionery shops selling similar flavoured fudge. You can get a 100g box from Buttermilk for £2.99 so you're definitely getting more bang for your buck at Morrisons.

They're not the first supermarket to ever sell the sweets. Last year, Marks & Spencer sold packs of the same flavoured fudge for £2.

But we can't find it in any other supermarket yet, so Morrisons is the place to go to taste the Easter deliciousness.

The dates for Easter change every year and this year it falls on April Fools Day, April 1.

Aldi's launched a new range of chocolate for Easter and it looks suspiciously like posher ones from Cadbury and Lindt.

The budget supermarket will be selling Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies and sharing bag snacks for just over half of the price of the branded ones - but we're not sure they taste as good.

Aldi say they their line of chocolate is "inspired by" the branded ones, but some of them are almost identical.
