A WOMAN spent years sleeping on trains before switching it up to travel the world in her van.

Leonie Müller, 31, from Germany, has revealed how she manages to be on a permanent "vacation" and has no plans to give it up anytime soon.

Her unconventional life began after Leonie had a fight with her landlord in 2015 and decided to quit renting altogether in favour of a £300 train pass.

"I instantly decided I didn't want to live there anymore - and then I realised actually, I didn't want to live anywhere anymore," she said.

Leonie spent her student years adopting a nomadic lifestyle and was free to live on any train she wanted.

The intrepid adventurer spent her spent her days speeding along at 190mph, washing her hair in train bathrooms and enjoying the freedom railway-life offered her.

Leonie travelled light, only carrying a small backpack with essentials - clothes, her tablet computer and a washbag.

She told the  at the time: "I really feel at home on trains and can visit so many more friends and cities.

"It's like being on vacation all the time."

However, after finishing her studies and starting work as a managing consultant in 2020 - she switched life on the rails for a home-on-wheels.

The influencer bought a 2015 VW Crafter and with the help of her parents' 80-year-old neighbours she turned it into a tiny home.

It was completed in May, 2022 and she now spends her time on the move and travelling and working wherever she feels like it.

Her Instagram is littered with pictures of stunning settings across Europe.

She told : "I now live in eight and a half square meters, which is about as much as a prisoner has in his cell."

However, she explained that compared to her life on a train, she has "so much more" space.

And what of the future? "I do this for as long as I enjoy and have no plan as to what I might do sometime later," she said.

"I don't wake up a single morning and think: the night would have been more comfortable in a real apartment."

Meanwhile, a man who bought an old van on Facebook marketplace and turned it into his dream home is now travelling around Europe for free.

Willem took to TikTok to share how he converted a Volkswagen van into a home on wheels in just 77 days.

It comes as a van life fan has designed the most "epic" tiny home on wheels which even features a wood burning stove and a piano.

His followers were so impressed that one joked that his luxurious van looked "better than my entire house.”
