We review the Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS from price to economy and all its features

CHOICES, choices. I'm at the Ascari race track in Spain and there are 12 Porsches begging to be abused.
What shall I choose? The Boxster GTS, Cayman GTS, 911 Carrera 4 GTS, Panamera GTS or the Cayenne GTS?
I went for the iconic 911. Not the coupe, or the cabriolet, but the awesome half coupe/half cabriolet Targa at £104,385.
It's my favourite of the three — just — thanks to that aluminium roll bar and sliding glass roof.
And to celebrate the original Targa of 50 years ago, it also gets Porsche's famous GTS (Gran Turismo Sport) DNA for the first time.
It's a devil in disguise. It has the looks, comfort and signature sound for full-on posing. There's even a loud exhaust button.
But it's also got attitude, serious attitude — the genes of a race car.
Active all-wheel drive, active suspension, short shift seven-speed manual and normally aspirated 3.8-litre flat-six that bangs out 62mph in 4.7 seconds and 99mph in 10.2. Sport Plus ensures optimum engine speed when changing down.
Most punters will pay another £3,000 for some clever Le Mans technology called PDK, which has quicker gear changes and cuts the 0-62mph sprint to 4.3 seconds.
Inside you are spoiled with more toys, including a Bose sound system. You can even download your performance data.
And that roof — be warned, it extends beyond the length of the car — is just a work of art.
Actually, I lied. I also had a play in a Cayman and a Panamera.
It's rude not to.
VERDICT: It's a Porsche 911. What's not to love?
