We review the Skoda Superb from price to economy and all its features

WHAT'S better than superb? Superber? Über-superb? Maybe not. What is better though is Skoda's all-new Superb.
Now in its third generation, the surging Czech brand's brilliant big car has surpassed itself in being bigger, lighter, sharper and cheaper than ever - starting at £18,640.
Under the family umbrella of VW, there's a predictably large portion of Passat in the Superb. But it's also full of surprises.
Rolls-Royce-inspired brollies concealed in the front doors, a genius, one-handed bottle-opening cup holder, motion-sensing tailgate - and wifi too.
But the biggest surprise is how Skoda convinced VW to allow them to build a better-looking alternative to the Passat. This is the best looking Skoda, ever.
As standard, every Superb sports alloy wheels, aircon, Bluetooth, DAB and a touchscreen infotainment system.
There are seven engine choices, from the 1.4-litre TSI petrol (125hp) to the hot hatch-rivalling 2-litre petrol (285hp).
But the sweet spot is the mid-range 2-litre TDI diesel. It has ample grunt, decent mpg and emissions as low as 108g/km.
WE LIKE: Premium looks, unrivalled interior space.
DISLIKE: Pricier top models make less sense.
VERDICT: I won't use that "S" word again but Skoda has smashed it.
