These silly road signs do more than they’re meant to
IT has been reported that there are now over 4.5 million road signs in the UK – double the amount twenty years ago.
Not only are they beginning to get in the way, they’re also confusing drivers and possibly making the roads MORE DANGEROUS.
Here are some UK road signs that will make you look twice – but not for the right reasons.

1. NO STOPPING. GIVE WAY. Oh wait, it's a junction - The cars were so confused they didn't know which side of the road to drive on.
Confusing... If you've got time to read all this lot, you'll be pulled up for going too slow
2. SIGN NOT IN USE - Road signs cost up to £600 to put up. And to think people say they're a waste of money.
Pointless... This sign gives drivers all the important information
3. LLANTWIT MAJOR - This small coastal town in Wales isn't far away, whichever way you go.
Helpful... If you're lost looking for this place, fear not. You can go any way you like - and amazingly, it's the same distance away too.

4. ELDERLY PEOPLE AND CEMETERY NEARBY - When you're putting up new road signs at the rate we are in the UK, you're bound to get some unfortunate placements.
Presumptuous... We're running out of room for the 4.5 million UK road signs.
5. ROAD LIABLE TO SUBSIDENCE - If you tilt your head ever-so-slightly you'll be able to read this perfectly placed sign.
Wonky... Drive slowly around here, just in case the road falls away
6. SANDY BALLS - This family adventure park doesn't sound very appealing - then again, that's not the sign's fault is it.
Funny... This is one holiday destination you probably wouldn't tell your mates you went to
7. DANGER FAILED ROAD - Why would you repair the road when it's cheaper to just put a sign up saying it's no use?
Fail... The driver was so busy reading the first sign, he didn't even notice the dodgy road ahead
8. DIVERTED TRAFFIC - There's nothing more annoying than when you don't know where you're going. Turns out who ever put these signs out didn't know either.
Right of left... This confusing message is diverting motorists from the diversion.

9. SLOW! KITTENS - Signs are there to inform and ensure safety, surely getting the kittens away from the road would've been easier for everyone
Crazy... Kill your speed, not a cat.
10. SUDDEN GUNFIRE - This sign advising drivers to expect being shot at was erected as a safety precaution, presumably.
Dangerous... Because if the gunfire wasn't sudden, motorists should be worried.
11. SECRET NUCLEAR BUNKER - Well, someone's let the secret out. The question is, how did the sign maker know which way it was?
Spies... There's a not-so-secret bunker in Essex apparently
12. DALEK - Extraterrestrial mutants, that way!
Doctor Who... Whether you're a fan of the TV show of not, this uninformative sign will bemuse you.
13. HEADPHONE USER LOST IN MUSIC - Okay, this was just a temporary sign put up to raise awareness, but it's more relevant than some of the official road signs.
Listener crossing... Just a shame she's not dancing like the guy on the sign.
