According to the listing, the blue sports car was first registered to P1 International in 2001 - a private supercar members club that Hill co-founded just two years after the end of his roller-coaster F1 career.

At the time, Hill's business partner Michael Breen pitched P1 as allowing petrolheads to "enjoy access to a supercar with none of the risk" - with the Cobra presumably among a plethora of other exotic motors on offer.

Hill eventually sold his stake in the company in 2006 and the car changed hands in 2007 to its second owner, who's since covered just 15,500 miles in it.

Despite its retro look, this iteration of the Cobra was built in 2001 - years after the original Cobras were produced in the UK and USA in the mid 1960s.

The model was revived thanks to Pride Automotive - who acquired AC Cars in 1996 - and offered a range of sports car that strongly resembled the iconic Cobra but using modern materials and components.

The listing states that just 37 of these light-weight motors were made, boasting a 5-litre fuel injected engine.

This particular model is suppled with full weather equipment and a tonneau cover, as well as the manufacturers handbook, UK V5C and MoT until May 2024.

Pistonheads added: "It remains in great running order and very fine condition with a nice aged patina."

Hill, 63, raced in F1 between 1992 and 1999 and was crowned World Championship in 1996 while driving for the Williams team.

He was famously one of Michael Schumacher's greatest on-track rivals, and also counted the likes of Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell and Jacques Villeneuve as his team-mates.
