16 mind-boggling sat nav fails
SOMETIMES we wonder if our sat navs are just taking us for a ride.
After three lorries got stuck down the same narrow road in Somerset this week, we've found other sat navs that have driven motorists around the bend.
Tight fit ... third trucker gets stuck in same spot in a week
1. UNSUITABLE FOR HGV FAIL
Embarrassing… The sat-nav failed to mention that this would be a squeeze
2. PARK AND RIDE FAIL
Gone off (road)… Asda took longer than normal to deliver on this route
3. RAILWAY CROSSING FAIL
Dangerous… This vehicle brought trains to a halt when it got stuck on a crossing
4. TIGHT SQUEEZE FAIL
Tight squeeze… This soft drink delivery left a sour taste in the driver’s mouth
5. LORRY LOAD FAIL
Country road... A bungling German lorry driver ignored road signs before getting his truck stuck, all thanks to his sat nav
6. NEW TO THE AREA FAIL
Flooded... Fire crews were called to Chelmsford to rescue this dopey van driver

Lost... A Scottish driver was in deep trouble after his sat nav sent him down a permanently closed road

Drama... A group of actors had to be rescued in Dorset after trusting their sat nav to get them from A-to-B

10. AIRLIFTED VAN FAIL
Mountain trail... This brave (and rather daft) Swiss van driver took to the mountains to complete his route - but had to be airlifted to safety after getting stuck

Ruined... The driver ignored the 'Not suitable for motor vehicles' sign and chose to follow her sat nav - ending up here

Major... This learner fell foul of her useless sat nav, leading her straight into 4ft of water on a driving lesson

Marooned... This van was one of many to try and cross a ford over the River Avon, following a road closure
