Major motorway closed after horror crash with 3 MILES of delays sparking chaos for thousands of morning commuters

A MAJOR crash on the M5 southbound has caused chaos this morning, with 3 miles of traffic and delays of up to 30 minutes.
The closure between junctions 19 (Gordano) and 20 (Clevedon) has resulted in the closure of lanes 1 and 2, leaving only two lanes open to traffic.
According to traffic monitor Inrix, all traffic is currently being temporarily held with stationary vehicles on the M5 southbound from J19 A369 Martcombe Road (Portishead) to J20 B3133 Ettlingen Way (Clevedon).
As a result, drivers are facing a lengthy wait with delays of up to 30 minutes on their usual journey times.
The congestion stretches for around 3 miles, with traffic crawling along the motorway as emergency services work to clear the scene.
Commuters are advised to avoid the area if possible or find alternative routes, as the closure is causing significant hold-ups.
