Renault Clio converted into bizarre mini pick-up truck – and it might just be the ultimate city centre delivery car
Conversion of the French hatchback took 'hundreds of hours' after Scottish mechanic started it as a joke. The transformation makes the Clio a two seater with huge load bay in the rear

THIS humble Renault Clio has been converted into a mini pick-up truck by a Scottish car nut.
The hatchback has been given the makeover after a four month "labour of love".
The project started as "a bit of a joke" when pals donated the Clio - but 6ft 2in Greg Cupples ended up pouring hundreds of hours into the conversion.
The 23-year-old mechanic got the idea after doing a similar job on a Fiat 500 for a customer at his dad's garage.
The Clio had to stripped down, chopped up and re-welded to create what might be the ultimate urban delivery car.
A new engine and respray completed the new-look Clio pick-up.
Greg, who towers over the dinky motor, said: "I feel quite big standing next to it. I didn't realise it would be so wee.
"Although I can get into it no problem. There's plenty of room."
"Initially it started as a bit of a joke chopping it but then I really liked it."
The conversion has been an on-going project throughout summer but is now in the final stages.
Greg said: "It is not easy. It's a lot of hours but it is nearly there now.
"It is something I do when I have got some spare time. I stay late at work to finish it.
"I thought it was something different and it is nice to do something different.
"It gives you a bit of pleasure. You see what you've made and if people like it makes me happy at the end of the day.
"I feel proud when I look at it."
Greg, who has worked at his dad's Brownsburn Garage in Airdrie since he was 16-years-old, has a life-long love of cars and has been working on them since he was 12.

And his project has been met with enthusiasm with his work colleagues.
Greg said: "It will be a show car. I will use it every now and again but it's not going to be an everyday car.
"I won't be picking my shopping up in it.
"It hasn't got a name yet but it will do. I name all of my cars."
And Greg doesn't think girlfriend Alana Ferguson, 23, minds him spending his spare time on it - and he's even got more projects planned.
Greg said: "We spend a lot of time together anyway so it doesn't bother her.
"It is a labour of love. I'm planning to do more cars – whatever comes in front of me basically.
"I get an idea and I have to do it. I do not know what is next but there will be something."
