Renault Trafic review: F1-inspired van won’t be racing Lewis Hamilton – but it’s perfect for life on the road
Renault has pimped up its Trafic van with racy F1 colours so white van man might have to think again

AND there goes Hamilton in the Silver Arrows, Vettel in the Ferrari and, unless I’m very much mistaken, Dave from Dunstable in a Renault F1 van...
He’s just flown past Greggs, avoided Betfred until later, and now he’s turning sharp left into Screwfix, all expertly directed by TomTom.
Renault has just launched special-edition Kangoo, Trafic and Master vans painted in the colours of its F1 team.

The mid-size Trafic Formula Edition you see here (£25,850 excluding vodka and tonic) is so car-like, it’s pretty much a Clio on stilts with a gigantic boot.
Cruise control, hill start assist, easy six-speed manual, 7in touchscreen, reversing camera, bendy headlights, Bluetooth, USBs, TalkSport, smartphone cradle, leather steering wheel, special mats, hands-free key card, deadlocking.
You’re being spoiled and it will also do the job.
There’s a hatch in the bulkhead for 3.75-metre pipes (or stowaways, see below) and this low-roof version swallows up to 5.2 cubic metres.

That’s three Euro pallets or 11 sheets of plasterboard. The left-side loading door is gratis, but the right-side loading door is an extra £280.
That coated floor and ply-lining costs extra too.
Now, you should know the Trafic is identical to the Luton-built Vauxhall Vivaro but for two things. 1) the Trafic has an extra year’s warranty at four years/100,000 miles and 2) it looks the business in F1 colours.
