Is this France’s answer to London’s iconic black cab? Renault EZ-GO is a crazy driverless car with a lift-up roof
Renault has revealed a futuristic view of what ride-sharing could look like. And bosses said it could one day become as iconic as the London taxi or New York's yellow cabs
RENAULT reckons its new robo-cab concept could one day be as iconic as the London black cab.
The driverless EZ-GO is France's answer to hailing a cab in the city - except it's a little more radical than the New York yellow taxi.

Passengers get in through the windscreen which lifts up entirely along with the roof.
Inside there's comfy sofa seating and luggage space for up to six people with cost being shared between rides - a bit like UberPool.
Ramps will deploy so wheelchairs and buggies can get on board easily, too.
You'll be able to hail the EZ-GO with an app or at a taxi station - and you can use the journey to read, work or even catch up on some sleep.

Simply pressing a button once everyone is on-board is enough to send the driverless taxi on its merry way.
Each shuttle will have onboard wifi, wireless smartphone charging and a huge digital display screen to show you your journey and estimated time of arrival.
Tourist hotspots will also be pointed out if you're taking the EZ-GO on a sightseeing trip and using the panoramic glass roof to its full potential.
And Renault even says it'll be a 24/7 service so you won't ever get stranded after a night on the tiles.

It'll also be zero emission in a bid to help clean up air pollution in major cities and it's limited to just 30mph so you won't find yourself careering off into a city accident.
The robo-cab can manage its distance from the car in front, stay in lane, change lanes to overtake and turn at junctions using just its computer brain.

It'll also be hooked up to a monitoring centre to know what's going on in the area and take passengers to safety in the case of "exceptional incidents".
