Beauty influencer Jayda McCann dies after cancer battle aged 24 as tributes paid to ‘inspirational woman’
Beauty influencer Jayda McCann has died from cancer today aged just 24.
Jayda, Co, Ireland, was battling a rare form of cancer called PEComa and died this morning.
A statement on her Instagram page confirmed the news she had died this morning.
It said: "Just want to update you all on Jade's situation; Jade passed away peacefully in her sleep this morning at 5.10am.
"We will put up a post in the near future with more details regarding her passing but for now her family would appreciate privacy until everything is in order.
"Thank you all for your support and continued kindness."
Actor John Connors paid tribute to his close friend saying: "I woke up this morning to the news that my dear good friend Jade McCann has passed away in the early hours of the morning.
"Jade had talent to burn and unlimited potential for life.
"She was an incredible singer, song writer and she was so articulate and charismatic too. She could of made it big in a number of careers.
“She was a warrior in every sense of the word and fought hard to the end."
'WARRIOR'
Jayda was diagnosed in March 2018 - just three weeks after her father Anthony was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
She previously told how she was grateful to.
She said: "I’m a total daddy’s girl. We’ve always been so close. You wouldn’t want to see anyone you love go through it, but if I could pick anyone in the world to do it with, it would be him.
“We understand each other on a completely different level. He can turn one of my worst days into one of my best days.”
A number of Jayda's friends and followers took to social media to pay their tributes.
One girl tweeted: "Actually so sad after seeing that Jayda McCann passed away,such an inspirational woman sharing her story and still being positive despite having cancer it’s just so heartbreaking."
Another added: "Never ever have I seen someone be so positive through the worst situations life can give than Jayda McCann inspired me and I’m sure everyone else everyday she definitely left her mark on this world so so sad RIP."
And one woman said: "Heartbreaking news about Jayda Mccann, what a stong inspiration she was🙏 Rest in peace beautiful."

Connors said he has been working on a documentary about Jayda and her family's story.
He added: "Myself and my friend @tiernanwill1 have been documenting Jade and her family's story the past 18 months. This documentary film is for her and is a part of her very important legacy.
"My thoughts and prayers go out to Jade's mother, father, brother, boyfriend and the rest of her loved ones who are missing her today.
"I'll never forget you Jade and the great times we had. My performance tonight onstage is for you x Rest in peace my friend"
