Qassem Soleimani’s daughter warns US troops are ‘waiting for their death’ after her dad’s execution

THE DAUGHTER of slain Iranian General Qassem Soleimani issued a chilling threat to US troops on state TV.
Zeinab Soleimani swore during her father's funeral that US soldiers' families "will spend their days waiting for the death of their children".
Ms Soleimani's threat of the attack on the U.S. military in the Middle East was made while speaking to a cheering crowd of hundreds of thousands in Tehran that stretched as far as the eye could see.
Her threat was echoed by Gen Soleimani's replacement, Esmail Ghaani, who has vowed to take revenge in an interview with Iranian state TV.
He said: "We promise to continue down martyr Soleimani's path as firmly as before with the help of God, and in return for his martyrdom we aim to get rid of America from the region."
The assassination of General Soleimani was a US retaliation for an Iranian backed attack on the US embassy in Iraq and fears that he was plotting against American diplomats.
Since the attack, Iran has made a full withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal that was painstakingly accomplished after decades of negotiation to bring peace to the region.
Iran has also put an $80 million bounty on Trump's head and has threatened to 'turn day into night' as Trump continues to goad and mock them on Twitter.
The deal was an agreement between the Islamic Republic and a group of world powers aimed at scrapping the Middle Eastern country's nuclear weapons programme.
It saw Iran agree to eliminate its stockpile of medium-enriched uranium by 98 per cent.
According to the deal, Iran would receive relief from the US, European Union, and the United Nations Security Council on all nuclear-related economic sanctions.
The agreement was reached on July 14, 2015, and the world powers signed it in Vienna.
However, on May 8, 2018, President Trump announced the US will withdraw from the agreement - which he has repeatedly called "insane" and ridiculous".
America's withdrawal from the agreement means crippling economic sanctions have once again been placed on Iran - further heightening tensions between the two countries.
The steep escalation came months of tensions between the US and Iran in which Tehran shot down an American military surveillance drone and seized oil tankers.
But there are serious concerns the execution could cause the outbreak of World War Three after Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei promised "harsh vengeance", "jihad" and "crushing revenge".
Searches for World War Three spiked on Google within hours of the airstrike and began trending on Twitter as the news broke.
And Trump deployed 3,500 troops to the Middle East in retaliation to threats by Iran vowing to "turn day into night".
Major US cities - including New York and Los Angeles - say they have already ramped up security in the aftermath to prevent any revenge attacks.
There are fears the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group may already have sleeper cells in the US ready to pounce.
Soleimani had landed at Baghdad Airport early yesterday morning where he was met by Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of the pro-Iran Popular Mobilization forces in Iraq.
As the cars passed through a cargo area for an access road leading out of the airport, the vehicle was struck by at least two missiles by a US MQ9 Reaper drone which was being controlled remotely.
