MILLIONS of Brits have once again clapped loudly up and down the country in appreciation for our NHS heroes and key workers.
People came to their doors and balconies at 8pm and applauded in thanks to those risking their lives on the frontline of the battle against coronavirus.

Police officers and firefighters sounded their sirens to show their appreciation, as other medics grinned and applauded outside their hospitals.
And despite recovering from Covid-19 at his countryside home Chequers in Buckinghamshire, Prime Minister Boris Johnson was able to take part in the clapping, a spokesman for Number 10 said.
He said: "Like millions of people across the country, the Prime Minister joined in the clap for carers this evening, to say thank you for the incredible efforts of the country’s doctors, nurses and care workers."
Join our George Cross campaign for NHS staff
SUN readers are today urged to sign a petition calling for our NHS staff to be awarded the George Cross.
Yesterday, we backed a proposal by Lord Ashcroft to honour our health heroes with the gallantry gong given for acts of bravery that did not take place in battle.
A No10 spokesman said: “The NHS is doing a fantastic job and the nation will want to find a way to say thank you when we have defeated this virus.”
SAS hero Andy McNab added: “The award of a George Cross would show an emotional appreciation.”
We are asking readers to sign the petition online at .
His pregnant partner Carrie Symonds tweeted her support while also mentioning WWII vet Captain Tom Moore who has raised more than £15m for the NHS.
She wrote: "Clapping harder than ever tonight for our carers. You are the best of Britain.
"Also clapping for @captaintommoore who has now raised over £15m for our NHS. Not only have you raised an enormous amount of money but you’ve inspired us all."
The first emotional Clap For Carers took place on Thursday, March 26, and has continued on a weekly basis.
Organisers behind the campaign, which started online, believe NHS staff need to know the public are grateful for their work during these unprecedented times.
Communities have used the clapping to give a much need morale-boost to the workers and also to uplift the nation's spirit during these difficult times.
In addition to NHS workers, retired personnel, as well as students nearing the end of their training, have joined the fight against coronavirus too and will also be heralded.
The Sun urged readers to get behind a weekly pause for thanks, and encouraged people to even turn their house blue in support — like 200 UK landmarks including Tower Bridge, the White Cliffs of Dover and Angel of the North near Gateshead.
Celebrities, members of the Royal Family and Brits from all over the country joined together last week, with other countries following suit in emotional applause.
Meanwhile, there have been calls to give our NHS heroes lasting support and recognition including the right protection at work.
Our amazing healthcare staff will be clapped around the country again at 8pm — and there were calls last night to give them lasting support and recognition.
As well as the PPE they desperately require to do their jobs safely, The Sun is backing philanthropist Lord Ashcroft’s plea for a collective George Cross medal to be awarded to the NHS.
He argues that the prestigious gong would be appropriate as it acknowledges supreme bravery that did not take place in the heat of battle.
It will also honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice — the medics who lost their lives while treating patients during the coronavirus crisis.
The George Cross expert writes: “NHS staff and other key workers are constantly involved in life-and-death struggles not just for the coronavirus patients but for their own survival.
“Yet they go out to confront these dangers head-on. It is for this reason that their incredible courage, not just their admirable devotion to their job, must eventually be recognised in a lasting and appropriate way.”
