Pop star Sinead O’Connor found safe after fears for ‘possibly suicidal’ star who went missing for over 36 hours

Police were searching for the singer after she failed to return from a bike ride on Sunday

IRISH singer Sinead O’Connor has been found alive and well after going
missing for more than 36 hours.

Concern had been growing for pop star after she was reported missing amid
fears that she may be suicidal.

The singer, 49, who has had an ongoing public battle with mental health
issues, went for a bike ride at around 6am on Sunday in Wilmette, Chicago,
and had not returned home or been heard from since, according to .

Police began searching for her after an anonymous caller reported her
disappearance – and she was at one point reportedly being classified as
‘missing suicidal’.

But local cops have now confirmed the troubled star has been found.

A spokesman told the :
“Sinead O'Connor has been found, she is safe, and is no longer a dangered
person.”

Sinead was last seen in the area on a Raleigh motorized bicycle with a pink
basket attached, wearing a black parka, black leather trousers and a jumper
with the word ‘Ireland’ written across it’s back.

Police from the Wilmette area said they were "seeking to check the
well-being" of the singer, but declined to answer more questions.

Comedian Arsenio Hall sued O'Connor this month over a Facebook post in which
she accused him of furnishing the late musician Prince with drugs. O'Connor
scored a hit in 1990 with her rendition of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2
U."

The disappearance of the mum-of-four came after a growing string of worrying
messages on her social media sites.

One post featured a quote from American anti-slavery campaigner Harriet Tubman
and read: “I had reasoned this out in my mind, there was one of two things I
had a right to, liberty or death.

“If I could not have one, I’ll have the other.”

The Nothing Compares to You hitmaker admitted to attempting suicide just six
months ago via overdose.

She posted what appeared to be a suicide note before the attempt in November.

“There is only so much any woman can be expected to bear,” the post read.
“I’ve taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect.”

She was eventually found safe and well, but was placed under suicide watch for
two weeks.
