A BRAVE mum-of-three confronted two workmen thought to be dumping rubble outside her home and forced them to pick it up.

The pair said they were just “sorting the rubbish out”, when Andrea Good demanded they clean up the mess from outside her gate.

Ms Good, 42, saw the workmen unloading rubbish by her home in the village of Woodlands, in the New Forest, Hampshire, and filmed herself confronting them.

The clip shows the men picking up all the rubble while maintaining they were “honestly not fly-tipping”.

In the 10-minute encounter, Ms Good said to the men: “I ain’t being funny mate but you have just pulled up here and this has all been hurled out and you have given me a c*** and bull story about a car going past.

“So I’m going to wait here for you clean it up.”

One workman responds: “Of course we are, I’m not going to drive off.”

As the men started to clear up their mess, which included an old toilet, Ms Good continued: “The problem is you get so many fly-tippers these days don’t you?”

She added: “Couldn’t you have taken this to your own yard rather than sorting it in the gateway?

“Anyone with a bit of common sense, if they were genuinely going to sort it out, they would have put a tarpaulin down.”

Ms Good is seen pointing out pieces of rubble, as one man loads them onto a shovel and puts them in the back of his truck.

A workman, wearing a pink shirt and a high-vis jacket, said: “We’re honestly not fly-tippers, love.”

He added: “I’ll be honest with you, we have just come from the Southampton tip and we did have a tarpaulin but it ripped, and we were so stressed because a lot of Southampton is closed off."

The man insisted: “When I first pulled up I thought it was just a little lay-by.”

'COMEDY VALUE'

Speaking after the incident, Ms Good, who works as a freelance groomer and farm owner, said she decided not to report the men to the police, and to instead film the confrontation “for the pure comedy value”.

She said: “We have had fly-tippers before but I haven’t confronted them.

“I was sat having a cup of coffee and I saw the van turn up and I heard the noise of it all being thrown out.

“I wasn’t too interested in going to the police because they are busy enough so I thought I would put the video up for the pure comedy value.

“The only thing I would say is I don’t think that fly-tipping would happen if tips were less restrictive about what people can dump.”

The workmen's company supported them, saying the firm has been “in contact with the police” and will help the local council in any investigation.

Louie Lewis, managing director of LJ Waste and Maintenance Ltd., said: “I am disappointed to see what is happening to our Family Operated Company on Facebook.

“Since the accusation has been made, I have been in contact with the police.

“I will also be in contact with the council to engage with any investigation.”

He added: “I also believe that all my customers are fully aware that I/We dispose of our waste correctly at Fully Licenced Waste Disposal Sites.”
