Killer mum jailed for toddler daughter’s manslaughter is handed an extra 13 years after she admits she murdered her baby son too
Evil Lesley Dunford admitted smothering baby Harley to death while she was serving a seven-year sentence for killing her three-year-old daughter Lucy six months later
A MUM who was jailed for killing her young daughter has been handed an extra 13 years after she admitted murdering her baby son too.
Lesley Dunford, 37, was today jailed for life after admitting the callous murder in October last year.
Baby Harley was just seven-months-old when his mum smothered him to death in August 2003.
Evil Dunford wrote a confession, in which she said: "Something just clicked in me."
Harvey was found dead in his cot at the family's home in Camber, near Hastings, East Susex - which his devastated dad believed was a cot death.
In June 2012, Dunford was jailed for seven years for the manslaughter of three-year-old Lucy, who died from asphyxiation.
The killer mum's chilling confession read: "Something clicked in me... I pushed his face into the mattress until he stopped breathing."
Jailing the mum-of-three for a minimum of 13 years Mr Justice Baker said: "The reality is, had you not confessed to killing Harley whilst in custody, it is highly likely there would not have been a police investigation into his death and you would not have faced prosecution for murder."
Evil Dunford lied to her husband for 10 years over the callous killings of their children, which came six months apart.
Wayne Dunford, 57, believed his murderous wife was innocent of killing their toddler daughter - despite being found guilty of the crime in 2012.
His cruel wife insisted she put Lucy to bed and returned to find her motionless in February 2004 - but jurors were not convinced.
Marks on Lucy's neck suggested she had been strangled and she had injuries consistent with being smothered.
Dunford was arrested shortly after Lucy's death, but the Crown Prosecution Service said there was not enough evidence to prosecute.
When she was finally rearrested in 2011, she told officers: "I have been waiting for this to happen."
