Police hunting driver of MG involved in fatal M5 pile-up who fled the scene before cops arrived
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene of the pile-up in Gloucestershire

POLICE are hunting a runaway driver after two men were killed and two others badly injured in a motorway pile up near Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, earlier today.
The driver of an MG Rover involved in the crash on the M5 junction 8 for the M50 disappeared from the scene as emergency services arrived.
Chief Inspector Yan Georgiou said: “The driver of the MG Rover fled the scene on the collision before police arrived. Despite extensive enquiries to trace him, he has not yet been identified or located. It is also not known whether there were any passengers in the vehicle.”
“We are now appealing for the driver themselves to come forward, or for members of the public to prove information to us to help identify and locate them.”
The pile-up started with a Ford Mondeo and the MG Rover colliding on the southbound carriageway of the M5 at 1.05am today.
A lorry then stopped and was involved in a collision with a silver Mercedes and black Mazda.

A 24-year-old Gloucester man who was driving the Mercedes died at the scene while a 23-year-old Gloucester man who was a passenger in the same vehicle also died.
Another passenger in the Mercedes, a 23-year-old Gloucester man, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, and is in a critical condition.
Another 23-year-old Gloucester man was taken to Southmead Hospital, Bristol, and is also in a critical condition.
A man who was a passenger in the Mazda and a man who was driving the Mondeo were taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
Both are believed to have suffered injuries that are not life threatening.
The motorway was closed for more than eight hours for a full investigation of the collision.
Traffic was sent on a 25-mile diversion along the M50 and around Gloucester, causing major jams in the area.
