His girlfriend Bluebell Baughan, 24, is now trying to raise money, along with Aiden’s family, to pay locals to help with the search effort.

Bluebell posted on social media that Aiden, of Norwich, had fallen and injured himself.

He told her by phone he could not find his way back to the trail before the pair lost contact.

Days before he went missing, Aiden posted about completing his first “official free soloing rock climb” on May 28.

He wrote: “Never had so much fun. Apologies in advance to all family members who think I’m loco, I’m actually a very safe climber and know my limits.”

His family have notified the Foreign Office and the British Embassy and his father and uncle are due to fly out to Vietnam to try to help the search.

An online fund set up to help was at a total of £900 after just four hours yesterday.

Aiden’s aunt Lisa Shaw Webb said on social media: “This is very upsetting for our family.”

Lisa said the family were trying to raise funds to pay for a helicopter to try to locate Aiden.
