Stunning sunrise images show cliff breaking off Dorset coastline
Martin Dolan, 34, took the amazing snaps at 3am along Weymouth’s Jurassic Coast

A photographer captured the ‘crack of dawn’ after an early morning stroll along the Dorset coastline.
Martin Dolan, 34, took these stunning images in Weymouth in a region dubbed the ‘Jurassic Coast’.
The local amateur snapper, from the nearby town of Verwood, was left awestruck as the glowing sunrise illuminated the huge scar which had ripped through the hill side.
An UNESCO World Heritage site, the area is prone to landslips where the cliff edge breaks off and plunges into the sea.
The landslide is caused when rain seeps into the coastline’s top layer of limestone which then mixes with the layer of clay below – making it heavier.
And train driver Martin said he was thankful he was able to capture the beautiful Dorset hillside before it drops into the ocean for good.
He said: “I arrived about 3am and took plenty of time to scout the area out, from both sides and from below.
“I took a calculated risk to get to the spot where I shot this.
“The ever changing face of the Jurassic Coast never ceases to amaze me and I'm happy I've captured this before it disappears for good as it has been in the back of my mind for some time now.”
