CHRIS Watts will spend the rest of his life in prison after killing his wife and their two daughters in August of 2018.

What did Chris Watts do?

He had driven 4-year-old Bella and Celeste, 3, along with the body of his dead wife to an oil field an hour away from their family home. 

Shanann was before she and her daughters were murdered.

Watts cried in court as he pleaded guilty to five counts of murder in the first degree, three counts of tampering with a deceased human body, and one count of unlawful termination of a pregnancy.

The request not to seek the death penalty came from Shanann's family.

The couple were married in Charlotte in 2012.

Who was he having an affair with?

Chris Watts was having an affair with Nichol Kessinger.

Kessinger told that she was only with Watts for two months and that he was not honest with her.

“I don’t think there is a logical explanation for what he did,” she told the newspaper.

“It’s a senseless act, and it’s horrific.”

Watts said he met Kessinger at work in June 2018, according to .

He told interviewers he stayed at her house “almost every night while his wife and daughters were in North Carolina” visiting family, WRAL reported.

Watts said “Kessinger wanted to have sex all the time” and that “he never had to worry about saying something stupid around [her] and never had to plan what he was going to say when he was with her.”

Kessinger told The Denver Post: “When he spoke to me, he was very softspoken. He appeared to be a good listener."

She said they never discussed long-term plans.

“He made me believe that he was doing all of the things that a rational man and good father would do,” she told the newspaper.

What did Watts tell Kessinger after his family vanished?

Watts sent Kessinger a chilling text message that his family had "gone" at around 3.45pm on the day his wife and kids were reported missing.

Kessinger recalls receiving the cold message, which followed a dozen normal messages they had shared throughout the working day.

She became even more confused when she realized journalists were outside his house, and she was horrified to learn he was still married to a woman who was 15 weeks pregnant.

She believed he was separated and at the end of divorce proceedings.
