Kamala Harris’ comms director Liz Allen among two Biden campaign members with Covid as VP nominee cancels travel

KAMALA Harris' communications director Liz Allen is among two Biden campaign members who have tested positive for Covid, forcing the vice presidential nominee to cancel her travel plans.

The party members tested positive for on Wednesday night.

The campaign confirmed on Thursday morning that communications director, Liz Allen, and another staff member who accompanied her to tested positive after that October 8 trip.

Harris and Biden spent several hours together that day through multiple campaign stops, private meetings and a joint appearance in front of reporters at an airport.

They were masked at all times in public, and aides said they were masked in private as well.

Biden and Harris have each had multiple negative tests since then.

However, Harris' travel has been canceled until Monday following the diagnoses.

Harris was scheduled to travel Thursday to for events and to encourage voters to cast early ballots.

The campaign has confirmed that it has begun contact tracing to notify everyone who came into contact with the individuals.

Biden is still set to attend an airing live at 8pm on Thursday.

He will be competing with for viewers, with the president going live on NBC at the same time.

The debate between the candidates was  after the president pulled out of a proposed virtual event following his  diagnosis.

The nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates cited a need "to  with the second presidential debate."
