Stunned onlookers can be heard laughing, screaming and whooping in the background as the furniture flies through the sky raining down on the road below.

Shrieks of laughter and cries of "oh my god" and "oh s***" can be heard in the background as the person filming the video charts the path of the first chair soaring over six lanes of traffic and a promenade before landing in the sea.

A clap of thunder then booms in background as a second chair smashes into the street below.

The video, uploaded to YouTube yesterday, was reportedly shot on Biscayne Boulevard in Miami.

According to one comment on the video it is apparently not that alarming a site in the Florida party town.

It read: "That happens a lot in the summer when tourist leave their clothes and furniture on the balcony."

Another user speculated that it might not be the weather responsible for the falling furniture writing: "Lol it looks like a dude got caught cheating on his girlfriend or something."
