The two wed in 2006 after meeting in a hotel bar during the 2004 Iowa caucuses.

Jake Tapper is an American journalist for CNN. He was born on March 12, 1969 in New York City.
Tapper is the chief Washington correspondent for the network and currently anchors his one-hour weekday program, The Lead with Jake Tapper.
He also alternates hosting duties with Dana Bash on the Sunday morning program State of the Union.

Tapper met Jennifer Brown at Hotel Fort Des Moines in Iowa in 2004 while covering a John Kerry campaign event for the caucus.
Brown was raised in Missouri and she was born in 1977. When she and Tapper met, she was working in Washington D.C.

She told the in 2015 that she liked to volunteer with AmeriCorps and help elementary school children learn to read.
Tapper recounted the night the two met to in 2016.
He said, "It was the day of the caucuses and all the big hitters flew in, so I knew I wasn’t going to go on. So my producer and I went out."
"When Kerry won, we said, 'Let’s go to the Kerry campaign headquarters because that’s where the party will be.'"
"And I walked into the Hotel Fort Des Moines and there was Jennifer," he added.
Tapper continued, "I saw her and I walked up to her and we went out the next day in D.C. and that was it," he said.
A former regional field manager for Planned Parenthood, Brown is no longer working full-time.
Tapper also revealed to Dartmouth that she had since shifted to working part-time for a group called Upstream.
The national nonprofit works to ensure that birth control is available to all women.
They wed two years later at The Clubhouse on Baltimore, an event space previously called the Kansas City Club.
Brown described the location to magazine saying, "We got married at President Truman’s old men’s club."
She added, "It felt very East Coast because of the history and the politics."
Tapper’s sister-in-law, Rabbi Laurie Hahn Tapper, officiated the wedding.
