THE Queen has today sent a tweet to thank everyone on social media who sent her a digital birthday message.
She wrote a thank you message and signed it, before it was confirmed as having been written and tweeted by the monarch herself with a secondary tweet sent by the Royal Family account.
Her Royal Highness today wrote: "I am most grateful for the many digital messages of goodwill I have received and would like to thank you all for your kindness. Elizabeth R."
The tweet was met with enthusiastic responses soon after it went live, with a few people hoping that she would soon be posting selfies of herself and her beloved corgis, like many other social media users and their pets.
The Royal Family account later posted a picture of Her Majesty sitting at a beautifully ornate gold and wood desk in Windsor Castle, about to send her tweet on a tablet, with the message: "The Queen has tweeted to thank all who have sent messages of goodwill on social media for her birthday #Queenat90."
This message ended with an extremely apt crown emoji.
