Video site goes down after suffering mysterious and unexplained outage
Visitors across the UK and Europe shown error page when trying to visit website
Youtube disappeared from the internet today after suffering an apparent outage.
The video site collapsed at 12:22pm, leaving people across UK and Europe unable to access the video sharing site.
People who visited Youtube were shown this message:
"Sorry, something went wrong.
"A team of highly trained monkeys has been dispatched to deal with this situation."
The website Down Detector published a map which suggested the problem affected much of Europe and Great Britain. Problems are also said to have been reported from Japan.
The issue was fixed within about 10 minutes.
During the time of the outage, people took to Twitter to share their thoughts about being locked out of the world's top video site.
