They based their conclusions on analyses by staff with “extensive experience” in investigating fatal alligator bites, after taking into account how close the gators were to the attack site.

Trappers captured three alligators in the size range believed to fit the subject animal – with two near the area where Lane was taken.

His dad Matt, 42, bravely tried to wrestle his son from the jaws of the reptile and suffered minor scratches.

At the time of the attack, Disney faced criticism for “No Swimming” signs around the lake that did not mention alligators.

However, it has since installed signs by the lagoon warning guests of alligators and snakes and erected fencing around the water.
