A VILE couple who beat a toddler to death after force-feeding him dried chilli during a weeks-long campaign of torture have been jailed.

Mohamed Nasser died in November after suffering a bleed to his brain from a vicious kick to the head.

Evil mother Zaidah, 41, was sentenced to eleven years in jail while her boyfriend, Zaini Jamari, was given ten years after being convicted of killing the tot.

The pair, who both work as cleaners, pleaded guilty to child abuse and grievous bodily harm charges.

The court also considered another 44 charges against them when delivering its sentences.

The trial in Singapore heard the couple beat the tot, also known as Daniel, on a daily basis.

They also subjected him to horrific acts of torture, including making him stand bent-double with his hands on his feet for hours on end.

He was also force fed dried chilli as punishment.

Daniel died on 23 November and was found to have more than 40 injuries.

District Judge Bala Reddy, sentencing, said: "For more than a month, the two of you, in a ruthless and unrelenting manner, inflicted severe torture on your two-year-old child, who was unable to retaliate or defend himself.

"The idea of a mother causing such hurt to a baby she had carried for nine months is simply incomprehensible."

Daniel's biological dad was in jail when his son was born and wasn't allowed to see him after his release.

In tears outside court, he said he wasn't satisfied with the sick pair's sentences, adding: "My son remains dead", according to .
