It comes just days after two teenagers died in separate incidents at the event.

Both youngsters, a man and a woman, are thought to have died after taking drugs at the festival in Strathallan Castle, Perthshire.

Camper Sean Gilles, of Edinburgh, said: "The festival should be a place for people to come and be safe and have a good time. For a woman to be attacked is just terrible. It’s crazy that something like this would happen.

"There has been a fair amount of fights on the campsite this weekend.

"And the security guys are simply nowhere to be seen and there seem to be so few of them."

One reveller told how she saw cops carry out investigations on Friday morning.

Rachel Jackson, 28, of Manchester, said: "I noticed the police were examining a tent in the campsite. One of the girls told me a young girl had been attacked.

"The police were there for quite a while. It’s terrible that this has happened."

Police confirmed they were investigating reports of a rape at the site on Thursday.

Meanwhile, officers probing the deaths of Peter MacCallum and Megan Bell said they were following a "line of inquiry".

It is believed the tragedies were related to drugs, but not linked to one another.

Megan, of Seaham, Durham, fell ill in the Slam Tent on Thursday night. She was taken to the medical centre by her pals but passed away soon afterwards.

Just hours later Peter, of Lochgilphead, Argyll, was found unconscious in a tent.

He was pronounced dead by medics at around 5am. Following the double tragedy, festival organisers urged revellers to dump narcotics in the special bins set up around the site.

They tweeted: "Drugs are illegal and dangerous. If you see anything suspicious, report it to a steward or police officer.

"Don’t risk it. You don’t know what’s in drugs, where they came from or how you’ll react to them.

"Steer clear. If you or your friends feel unwell, seek help immediately from festival staff."

Festival boss Geoff Ellis added: "There are serious medical risks of taking drugs and we do various things to try to stop them being brought in.

"We have always had amnesty bins but this year we’ve put some inside the festival and campsites."
