Husband charged with attempting to murder his Cambridge university lecturer wife at their £1m home as she fights for life
Dr Marian Bond was attacked at her home and rushed to hospital with serious head injuries

A UNIVERSITY lecturer is fighting for her life after she was attacked at her own home - with her husband arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Dr Marian Bond is in a critical condition after being rushed to hospital with serious head injuries by paramedics on Monday morning.
Paul Bond, 61, has been charged with her attempted murder and was due to appear before Peterborough magistrates’ court today.
Dr Bond is a specialist in Animal and Behavioural Biology at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.
Neighbours of her £1million home in Over, Cambs, today described how she had been “ill” for some time.
Another woman said Mrs Bond would regularly go into the village shop to buy a paper and get her car serviced at the village garage.

She said: "It's awful what's happened and not the sort of thing you expect to happen here.
"But then you never know what goes on behind closed doors. I just hope she gets better."
The large detached property where the couple live was abandoned on Wednesday, but several windows had recently been boarded up.
Three ageing Renault people carriers were parked on the driveway alongside a camper-van, while hedges around the property were visibly overgrown.
The couple had reportedly lived in the house for more than 20 years but neighbours said they did not involve themselves in village life.
It is not yet known whether they had any children.
A spokesman from Anglia Ruskin University said: "We can confirm that Dr Marian Bond is a member of staff at Anglia Ruskin University.
"As this is an ongoing police investigation we are unable to provide further information at this time."
