His aides were seen unloading boxes packed with flowers and expensive chocolates into his posh seven-bedroom house in Kensington and Chelsea.

The three-storey mansion is owned by Mr Cameron's PR mogul and close family friend Sir Alan Parker.

An aide said the Camerons are expected to stay in Sir Alan's property "for a few days" before moving on.

He is waiting for tenants at his own £3.6m Notting Hill home to move out when their existing agreement comes to an end.

Speaking outside the property, she said: "Eventually they will be moving back into his home which he is renting out in Kensington.

"The tenants were due to move out anyway. They'll be moving in when it's ready for them.

Mr Cameron was spotted looking more relaxed after his six-year stint as PM, wearing a pair of jeans and loafers as he left his new pad in upmarket Holland Park yesterday.

The MP was spotted reading a copy of his favourite newspaper, The Sun, dressed in a pair of skinny jeans and shirt.

He enjoyed a coffee with sacked George Osborne at cafe Lisboa in north Kensington at around 10am.

Cameron, a regular visitor to the cafe before he was Prime Minister, chose to sit at an outside table in full view of passers-by.
