Jimmy Savile’s victims set to get more than £1.8m from his estate – leaving sex beast’s beneficiaries with nothing
Victims of Savile will get compensation meaning there will be nothing left for those named in will, High Court judge ruled

JIMMY Savile’s victims will get £1.8million from his estate — leaving relatives and friends named in his will with nothing.
The wishes of the sex predator DJ are to be ignored after the High Court yesterday approved the payout to his victims.
Mr Justice Warren said he had “no hesitation” in approving the payout of £1,846,687 to 78 victims.
He said the question for him was whether to approve the payouts while there were a number of out of time and rejected claims.
But in his judgment “a line has to be drawn somewhere.”
He said the Bank could not be expected to indefinitely retain assets against the possibility of proceedings being commenced.
Legal costs of £2.5million means 26 beneficiaries in Savile’s will get nothing because the estate is now insolvent.
Savile, said to have abused 1,000 victims over six decades, left £4.3million when he died aged 84 in 2011.
Initially 131 people made claims against his estate after he was exposed as a paedophile.
