Drunk easyJet passenger tried to ‘chomp girlfriend’s face’ in boozy row on holiday flight

A PLANE passenger tried to bite his girlfriend in a drunken row on a holiday flight, a court was told.
David Briggs is said to have attempted to chomp on her cheek after she slapped him.
Magistrates heard dad-of-four Briggs, 35, also repeatedly told cabin crew to “f*** off” and told a frightened woman next to them: “Shut up, you f***ing bitch.”
Prosecuting, Lucy Coleman said: “The defendant’s partner had slapped him around the face and the defendant was being abusive back.
“The defendant was leaning over and trying to bite the cheek of his girlfriend.

“When told to stop, he said ‘whatever, f*** off.’”
His girlfriend and the other woman were so scared they asked to be moved away from the yob, who was downing his duty free booze.
One woman became increasingly distressed and asked to move seats and Briggs told her: “Shut up, you f***ing bitch.”
Coleman continued: “An hour later, the defendant’s partner also asked to be moved seats and was moved to another part of the plane.
“The defendant was found drinking alcohol. The defendant was clearly drunk.”
The pilot of the easyJet flight from Greek isle Zante to Bristol radioed ahead for police, who arrested him.
Briggs, of Pontypridd, South Wales, claimed he did not try to bite his girlfriend but admitted being drunk on an aircraft.
Speaking at the hearing, Briggs said: “I am ashamed of my behaviour.”
The labourer was in breach of a suspended jail term.
North Somerset JPs sent the case to crown court for sentencing.
