‘SAS’ nutter and Queen fanatic on the run after being found outside Buckingham Palace with knives

The Queen fanatic was arrested in June but failed to show up to court on Thursday, sparking a warrant for his arrest

A QUEEN-obsessed Army nut arrested outside Buckingham Palace with knives and a garrotte wire has gone on the run.

John Bolton, 47, was wearing a fake SAS beret and had a military radio when cops nabbed him in June — two days before Her Majesty turned 90.

Despite his age, he told officers he had been in the army for 35 years and had been directly tasked by Prince Philip.

He also said he had been on constant guard duty for five days with his dog, which was found in the boot of his car along with the weapons.

Among Bolton’s other claims to cops were that he had been given special permission by the Queen to stay in Buckingham Gate hotel.

He had tried to drive off when officers approached his car at Wellington Arch on Hyde Park Corner, but was stopped.

He was later charged with four counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

Bolton, of Banbury, Oxon, was released on bail but failed to show at Westminster magistrates’ court on Thursday.

A warrant has since been issued for the father of one’s arrest.

The royal security scare comes after convicted murderer Dennis Hennessy, 41, was found wandering around the gardens of Buckingham Palace in May after scaling a 10ft spiked wall.

He got within 55 yards of where the Queen and Prince Philip were staying before his arrest.

Hennessy, who once battered a tramp to death with an iron bar, was returned to jail.
