Former adviser to CPS head wrote to prosecutors before innocent teacher Kato Harris was charged
Alison Levitt, 43, wrote to lawyers and questioned work her firm had done on the case and discussions between cops and the complainant

A FORMER adviser to the head of the CPS wrote to prosecutors before innocent teacher Kato Harris was charged with rape.
Alison Levitt, 43, was working for the family of the schoolgirl complainant at the time.
Mr Harris, 37, was cleared by a jury last month after just 26 minutes.
Ms Levitt, the ex-principal legal adviser to the Director of Public Prosecutions, is now a senior partner at law firm Mischon De Reya.
They were instructed by the girl’s wealthy parents.
She brought in ex-Met Police chief Sue Akers for a private probe into the alleged rape at a London school.

But questions were raised at the trial about Miss Akers’ role and the “unique” way she approached cops.
Before Mr Harris was charged, Ms Levitt wrote to CPS lawyers looking at a police file on the allegation.
It is understood she raised the work her firm had done and discussions between cops and Miss Akers.
The case went ahead despite initial warnings it did not pass the “reasonable chance of conviction” threshold.
The CPS denied Ms Levitt tried to apply pressure to charge Mr Harris.
