A SENSELESS vandal who was filmed scratching another woman's BMW was slapped with a fine as it was revealed she did it for no apparent reason.
Hazel Innes, 44, was caught on camera scraping a key along the side of the white BMW X3 while walking her pug dog.
Innes was caught on Shona Coull's CCTV camera when she brazenly scratched her BMW in the Seaview Road area of the town around 6.15pm on January 22 this year.
She also scratched two other parked cars - causing almost £3,000 worth of damage - in the streets near her home in Moray, Scotland.
Innes initially denied being the culprit but later admitted causing the damage at Elgin Sheriff Court in April 2016.
Appearing at the same court today, it was confirmed that she had paid £2,845 to reimburse the victims in full.
Her solicitor Matthew O'Neill revealed that she could not give an explanation for the vandalism.
Fiscal Kevin Corrins told the court that the vandalism seemed to be carried out randomly.
Sheriff John Rafferty accepted Innes had made efforts to pay back her victims but fined her an extra £340.
Innes was caught on Shona Coull's CCTV camera when she brazenly scratched her BMW in the Seaview Road area of the town around 6.15pm on January 22 this year.
Fuming Shona, 44, a housewife, uploaded the CCTV footage to her Facebook profile two days after the vandalism.
And the video has amassed more than 694,000 views since it was put online.
In the 23-second video, Innes is seen approaching the car with her dog before looking around for witnesses.
She is then seen brazenly scratching a key along the length of the BMW before making her way.
Shona confirmed that she had to pay £963 out of her own pocket to have the damaged vehicle fixed.
She said: "I'm happy that it's all over and that I can now look forward to getting my money back.
"We had to pay to fix the damage ourselves as the insurance premiums at that time of year are just so high.
"I was a bit anxious as I wasn't sure if I was going to get the money but in the end, I am really happy that justice has prevailed.
"I don't know the woman that did this and as far as I am aware, it was just completely random.
"I don't have any ill feeling towards her but I am glad that justice has prevailed.
"It's all in the past now and I just want to forget about it."
Innes also scratched a Nissan Qashqai and a Honda CRV in the incident.
