OSCAR Pistorius reportedly had a meltdown in jail on what would have been murdered girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp’s 33rd birthday.
The Paralympian gold medallist is said to have spent Friday banging his head against the wall of his jail cell and wailing.
Sources say the 29-year-old athlete is remorseful for shooting Reeva over three years ago.
Speaking to the , one said: “Somehow it unleashed even more pain and emotion in him.
“Oscar was hysterical.

“Reeva would have been 33 and it triggered all the images, memories and horrific moments when he shot her.
“He has refused food and is refusing to do anything.”

According to the source, Pistorius asked to have candles to light for her birthday, which were refused.
Pistorius was attended to by a counsellor and medics.
He is currently serving a six-year jail sentence for murder, but prosecutors will argue that the Paralympian should stay behind bars longer on Friday.
The source continued: “Apparently he is just pacing round and round hitting his head and wailing.
“Oscar simply can’t cope and people are getting worried about his ability to manage this sentence.”
“People are worried Oscar is losing the will to live.”
Pistorius’ lawyers say they will argue “a continuation of this matter is inimical to the interests of justice, patently unfair and enough is enough”.
Pistorius, who killed girlfriend Reeva at his home in Pretoria on Valentine’s Day in 2013, is not expected to attend this week’s hearing.
