THIS is the heart-stopping moment a child suicide bomber is stripped of his explosive vest by brave policemen.

Iraqi security officers are seen grappling with the young boy - aged around 12 - who is visibly emotional as he attempts to pull away.

Cops had stopped the boy in the street and asked him to remove his Lionel Messi Barcelona jersey - revealing the explosive device.

The emotive photos were taken in Kirkuk, Iraq, on Sunday evening as five men detained the boy in the middle of an empty street.

After a brief struggle, officials were able to remove the suicide vest, and the boy was taken into custody.

Nobody was harmed in the terrifying incident.

It is believed he was planning to detonate the vest inside a Shia mosque as part of an attack on behalf of terror group ISIS.

The group has used minors brainwashed by the sick ideology to carry out several suicide attacks.

While images of children carrying out brutal executions in Syria and Iraq have become commonplace.

Kids have even been given the moniker 'Cubs of the Caliphate' by twisted extremists.

The young boy’s arrest follows two separate suicide bomb attacks in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk yesterday.

The close call comes just 24 hours after 51 wedding guests were slaughtered by a child suicide bomber while dancing at a reception in Turkey.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan blamed the murders on ISIS following the attack, which took place in Gaziantep on Saturday.

He claimed the killer, who wore an explosive belt to carry out the attack, was aged between 12 and 14.

The attack is the deadliest bombing in Turkey so far this year.

Fifty-one people lost their lives and 90 were injured. The wounded are still being treated in nearby hospitals.

Witness Veli Can, 25, said: "The celebrations were coming to an end and there was a big explosion among people dancing.

"There was blood and body parts everywhere."

Turkey has been hit by a series of bombs planted by both ISIS and Kurdish militants over the course of the past year.

The last attack by ISIS, on Istanbul airport in June, left more than 40 dead.
