A FATHER who begged for his life for the sake of his five-year-old daughter was fatally shot in his own home after an Internet date set him up to be robbed.

Adam Hilarie met Hailey Bustos on the dating site PlentyofFish, and the pair went out together last Thursday.

The 27-year-old, from Auburndale, Florida, brought her back to his apartment.

According to the, the pair then decided to go on a second date.

However Bustos, 18, returned the following evening with three men - so they could steal TV's, an Xbox and an iPhone.

According to the publication, Hilarie was shot in the head after begging the group to let him live.

Reports obtained by the paper stated: "Hilarie was begging for his life, he was not putting up any kind of fight, and was telling them that he had a five-year-old daughter."

The three men - Andre Warner, 26, Gary Gray, 31, and  Joshua Ellington, 26 were arrested along with Bustos.

They all face murder and robbery charges.

His brother, Angel Cruz said:  "He just had this spirit about him, and it was inexplicable, you know. He brought out the good in everyone."
