Bodybuilder Kali Muscle says ‘God is using me as an example’ as he suffers heart attack after Shawn Rhoden’s death

FITNESS icon and bodybuilder Kali Muscle said he's thankful to God for keeping him alive - and that he's being used "as an example" for others following a scary heart attack that landed him in the hospital.

The 46-year-old bodybuilder said suffering cardiac arrest was the "scariest moment of his life" and that he was grateful to be alive after bodybuilder Shawn Rhoden died due to cardiac arrest at 46 just a day earlier.

Appearing on his official channel, Muscle - real name Chuck Kirkendall - told his fans to take care of themselves because not everyone receives a "second chance."

"Make sure you guys take care of your health. That's what I've been talking to you about anyway," Muscle said from his hospital bed.

"I’ve always been concerned, so I don’t want to say it’s a wake-up call," he said after explaining doctors told him his arteries were "100 percent clogged."

"And you know, God is using me as an example, because as we just saw, you know, RIP Shawn Rhoden."

In the video, entitled "I almost died" in all caps, Muscle is seen speaking clearly but struggling to hold back tears after mentioning Rhoden's name.

After mentioning Rhoden's name, Muscle begins wiping his eyes and attempts to look back at the camera but continues instead towards his eyes.

After a minute-long pause, Muscle attempts to begin speaking again in the short nine-minute video but instead brings tissues to his face before resuming.

"Some people don't get a second chance, man. I got my twins and I gotta live, man," he said as tears began rolling down his face.

Muscle was rushed to the hospital on Sunday when he started experiencing chest pains that he brushed off as heartburn but his girlfriend identified as a heart attack.

Doctors have said he'll likely be released from the hospital in the next day or two following successful surgery.
