A REAL MEGA-BUS

Take a peek inside the incredible Chinese ‘Flying Airbus’ that’s big enough to drive OVER traffic

Pictures emerge of the futuristic interior of the world's most bizarre public transport vehicle

If you London's bendy buses were unusual, wait until you see the experimental vehicle currently being tested in China.

New pictures of the interior of a "Transit Elevated Bus" which straddles two lanes at once have been published today, giving us a glimpse inside one of the strangest vehicles in the world.

We were first shown pictures of the megabus - which has been dubbed a "Flying Airbus" - in August and it was so bizarre that it was immediately hailed as a fake.

Chinese state media claimed officials in Qinghuangdao City, the town where the machine was supposedly being tested, hadn't heard of it, whilst other critics suggested the Airbus wasn't actually big enough to drive over traffic.

But new pictures of the massive motor were published today, showing it driving down a street in Qinghuangdao and literally overtaking a white Range Rover style vehicle.

The real-life megabus is  22 metres long, 7.8 metres wide and 4.8 metres high, with a space of about 2.1 metres to let cars pass below.

It can hold about 300 passengers and runs on tracks, so it's actually more like a massive tram than a bus.

So far, it's been seen travelling down a 300 metre test road and it's some way of being used on the streets of China, let alone the streets of any other country.
