Hate preacher Anjem Choudary abandons his anti-West rants to eat at non-halal McDonald’s
Startling picture emerges of him buying fast food meal while he was on bail for terror charges
JAILED hate preacher Anjem Choudary spent years telling the world how much he hated everything about the west but this photo certainly proves otherwise.
The picture, taken while outspoken Choudary was on bail ahead of his terror trial, shows him buying a non -Halal McDonald's meal at a service station.
Choudary was jailed for five-and-a-half years yesterday for inviting support for the so-called Islamic State group.
The 49-year-old was convicted at the Old Bailey after backing the group in an oath of allegiance published online.
The judge, who described Choudary as calculating and dangerous, passed the same sentence on his confidant Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, 33.
Today's photo of Choudary at the fast food favourite is reported to have been taken at the Watford Gap service station in April - just before he went on trial for inciting support for ISIS.
It is thought he stopped at the Northants service station on the way to a meeting in the Midlands.
An onlooker said: "Considering he hates everything about the West, and is also meant to only eat at halal places, he is clearly a hypocrite.
"I had heard of this guy before and I was a bit surprised given what he preaches so I took a picture of it.
"I live in Luton and he is often there preaching and I have seen him numerous times.
"There was a couple of people that also recognised him. He had a disagreement with someone there, but I don't know what they were saying."

Choudary, of Leytonstone, east London, has previously praised food chains which serve halal food - which is acceptable to eat under strict Muslim rules.
But the burger giant does not serve and has no immediate plans to offer halal food stating it 'would require significant changes to our kitchen procedures and supply chain'.
Fast food is not the only benefit of living in Britain which Choudary has enjoyed - the father-of-five infamously raked in more than £40,000-a-year in benefits.
Choudary has lived on benefits in the UK for the past 20 years, during which time it is understood he has claimed up to £500,000 from the state.
While living off the state - dubbing his benefits 'Jihadiseekers' Allowance' - Choudary became one of the country's most notorious radical preachers - professing hatred against the West.
But before turning to Islam, the radical preacher was reported to enjoy a wild 'western lifestyle'.
At University he was said to be a heavy drinker and as these pictures below show he certainly didn't insist all women were covered up.
Ranting Choudary has claimed in the past that he is no fan of western lifestyles of our 'decadent' society.
His followers burned remembrance poppies and disrupted Armistice Day events and he even called for Buckingham Palace to be turned into a mosque.
But despite spouting vile sermons credited with inspiring home-grown terrorists he only escaped arrest because of our western libertarian free speech laws.
He was finally snared by police after pledging allegiance to ISIS and calling on his followers to travel to the so-called 'caliphate' in Syria.
