Star Hobson killer Savannah Brockhill given £10K in taxpayer cash for lawyer before ‘splurging £9,000 on diamond Rolex’

CALLOUS baby killer Savannah Brockhill was handed more than £10,000 in legal aid while on trial for the murder of Star Hobson, The Sun can reveal.

But after spending just over four weeks inside as a convicted murderer, evil Brockhill has been on a spending spree - splurging £9,000 on diamond-studded Rolex watches and boasting about her cushy cell.

The former boxer, 28, was handed £10,290.24 to pay for a solicitor, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) confirmed to The Sun.

Legal aid, funded by taxpayers, is awarded to people who cannot afford representation in criminal trials.

Star's mum, Frankie Smith, 20, who was in a relationship with twisted Brockhill, was also awarded £10,482.01 for the cost of a barrister, the MoJ said.

Brockhill was locked up for life with a minimum of 25 years after being convicted of battering the 16-month-old to death.

Medics said Star's injuries were usually only seen in car crash victims and had been caused by "punches, kicks or stamps".

Tragic Star had also suffered a severe skull fracture and several other fractures to her tibia and ribs leading up to the fatal attack in Keighley, West Yorks.

Brockhill waged an evil campaign of abuse, inflicting "utterly catastrophic" injuries.

Smith - who ignored the disgusting abuse by her girlfriend - was handed eight years after being cleared of murder, but convicted of causing or allowing the death of a child.

During the trial, where the pair spent a combined £20,772.25 of hard-working Brits' money, it was heard how shameless Brockhill caused little Star unimaginable pain, waging a campaign of brutal emotional and physical abuse.

A Ministry of Justice spokesperson said: “Criminals don’t get a penny of legal aid, payments are means-tested and sent directly to solicitors and barristers who represent them to ensure a fair trial.

“Without legal representation, criminals could argue their trial was unfair and convictions could be quashed.”

Now languishing in a cushy room with garden views and an ensuite bathroom at Styal Prison in Cheshire, ghoulish Brockhill has a twisted fanclub who funnel money and treats to her.

A jail source told : "It's a sad reflection on society that some members of the public enjoy writing to a killer like this - and even reward her with gifts. A lot are from admirers.

"It beggars belief really, but Savannah is said to be loving the attention and almost thinks of herself as a celebrity and prison pin-up."

The self-styled "number one psycho" also forked out £9,000 on diamond encrusted Rolex watches for two of her young nephews.

A former cellmate also said she has never seen her cry and that she boasted about "burying three more babies" in a sick joke to horrified lags, according to

And shameless Brockhill, whose dad claims she was unfairly discriminated against because of her traveller heritage, has vowed to appeal her conviction.

She will push back on her life sentence, claiming it was Smith who delivered the fatal blow which killed the tot, the reports.
