Michael Gove slammed for comparing himself to Ku Klux Klan leader while making Black Lives Matter speech

Ex-Justice Secretary in hot water after analogy falls flat

MICHAEL Gove was in hot water last night after cracking a joke about the Ku Klux Klan and Black Lives Matter at a legal dinner.

The former Justice Secretary - who was sacked by new PM Theresa May - was slammed for telling a hostile crowd of lawyers: “I feel rather like the grand wizard of the KKK giving an address to the AGM of Black Lives Matter.”

Eyewitness claim his comment went down badly in the room.

Mr Gove was speaking at the annual conference of the Society of Legal Scholars.

Last night they said: “In the course of his speech, aware that his academic audience might be largely hostile given his position on Brexit, Mr Gove drew an analogy.
