FAREWELL DEAR FRIEND
The Sun’s legendary gardening guru Peter Seabrook laid to rest in coffin covered with flowers he’d grown

THE Sun’s legendary gardening guru Peter Seabrook was laid to rest yesterday in a coffin covered with flowers he had grown himself.
More than 150 people from the worlds of gardening and journalism attended the funeral.
The coffin was adorned with snowdrops, camilias and hellabores — as was St Michael and All Angel’s Church in Galleywood, Essex, where the farewell took place.
Peter died of a heart attack last month aged 86.
For more than 40 years he wrote The Sun’s gardening column – never missing a single week.
Gardening writer Howard Drury described him as “the greatest horticulturist of all time”
Peter was buried next to late wife Margaret, who died in 2020.
His family urged his fans to plant a tree in his honour.
