London Victoria commuters facing severe Southern Rail delays after man dies at Sydenham Hill station

PASSENGERS are facing severe delays after a person was struck by a train and died on a major route to London.

Southern Rail have confirmed services between London Victoria and East Croydon are likely to be disrupted in both directions.

A man struck down and killed at Sydenham Hill station this morning, transport cops said.

Emergency services were called out to the tragedy at roughly 10am.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers are on the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service however a person has sadly been pronounced dead.

"We are now working to identify the person and inform their family.

"This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
