A COP filmed smashing a car windscreen with passengers still inside has been put on restrictive duties – as police confirmed it was a case of mistaken identity.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a formal complaint had been made to them regarding the officer’s conduct.

They then concluded that the man they had stopped was not the person in question and was released – both cops have been disciplined.
The Met said: “The footage continues to be subject to an investigation by officers from the Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS) and the driver of the car has been spoken to by these officers.”

The dramatic video, shared by a former member of rap group So Solid Crew, shows the moment the Met officer smashes a car windscreen and tries to saw the hole open with a knife as a driver refuses to get out of his vehicle.
The fuming cop shouts at the motorist to get out of the car "because you are not allowed to drive it" and later says "you are disqualified you're not allowed to drive".
When the driver refuses to get out the cop screams at him "get out the car" and starts kicking the door and smashing the driver-side window with his baton.
