Now, he faces charges of open murder, burglary, and destruction of evidence, according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.

Irion was initially reported missing on March 13, but she was last seen alive on March 12.

She was abducted from a Walmart parking lot, according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.

Surveillance footage from that morning shows Driver approaching Irion's vehicle.

He said or did something that prompted Irion to move from the driver's seat of her car.

Driver then got into the vehicle, with Irion on the passenger side, and drove away.

Irion's car was found on March 15. Her body was recovered on March 29.

“Their investigative actions led them to a possible gravesite, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Investigative Services was contacted and responded to assist in processing the scene,” said the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

Her body was recovered approximately 150 miles from where she originally disappeared in Fernley, Nevada.

Following the confirmation that Naomi's body had been found the sheriff’s office said: "No further information can be released at this time as this is still an open and active investigation."

A cause of death has yet to be announced, though her death was ruled a homicide.

DRIVER'S PAST

After his initial arrest, it emerged that Driver was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in a 1997 murder case in Northern California.

Police records show that Driver, who is from California, was charged with accessory to murder in connection to the killing of Paul Steven Rodriguez, 19.

Rodriguez was a “reputed” methamphetamine dealer at the time, according to the Ukiah Daily Journal. He was shot in the head by his 17-year-old girlfriend.

Reports from May 1997 claim Driver, who was 17 at the time, helped stuff his body in a car before the remains were dumped in Mendocino County.

Driver remains in police custody at the Lyon County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
