RACHEL Maddow is a reporter for MSNBC and is the host of The Rachel Maddow Show.
Her show will continue to air once a week, every Monday, but will now be replaced by Alex Wagner Tonight on Tuesdays through Fridays.

Rachel Maddow is stepping back from The Rachel Maddow Show, which has officially been replaced by Alex Wagner Tonight.
The news comes after ratings dropped during Maddow's absence from her primetime show.
She announced in February that she would be taking a hiatus from the news program to work on a film project for her podcast Bag Man.
She cut back her time at the station back to Monday nights.

In 2021, Maddow signed a multi-year agreement with NBCUniversal and MSNBC.
On April 11, 2022, Maddow and MSNBC announced that her show's schedule would be cut down to just once a week.
The Rachel Maddow Show started airing on Mondays every week on May 2, 2022.
On June 27, Maddow updated her followers on Twitter that she would be on air that night and "every Monday."

Who has been filling in for Rachel Maddow?
Ali Velshi was the primary host who filled in for Maddow during her absence from The Rachel Maddow Show.
Velshi took to Twitter on April 8, 2022, to announce that his time filling in for Maddow had come to a close.
"After 5 weeks in Hungary/Poland/Ukraine, this is my final night sitting in for my friend Rachel @Maddow, who returns Monday!
"Being here, working with her amazing staff, & serving you, her loyal viewers, has been a unique privilege. Thank you for your patience with me."
Since Maddow has taken her hiatus, the show's ratings have dropped, and reported she had her worst week from April 4 to 8 since 2016, when she averaged 1.3million viewers.
In the first quarter, her show averaged 1.84million viewers, compared to 3.6million in the same period in 2021, the outlet reports.
Upon her departure in February 2022, she told viewers about the change in her life.
"As you can tell I’m nervous about all this, it’s a change in my life, but it’s all for the good."
Is Rachel Maddow's show being replaced?
Velshi announced on May 3 that The Rachel Maddow show would continue to air on Mondays with Maddow as the host, but the Tuesday through Friday timeslot will be replaced.
"As you know, Rachel Maddow’s show now airs weekly on Mondays," Velshi said. "
On June 27, 2022, it was revealed that Alex Wagner is set to replace Maddow in the primetime slot.
Wagner, 44, will replace Maddow in her own primetime show on weeknights at 9pm, reports.
"She pulls in perspective. She brings in some of the context throughout her discussion," MSNBC president Rashida Jones told .
"She knows politics. She knows everything from foreign policy to culture.
"This is not a show where our hair is on fire and we're yelling past each other, and we're creating these manufactured moments of tension," Jones added in a separate interview with .
"I really want the takeaway from this show to be a better understanding of what's happening in the world."
Wagner wrote on Twitter on June 27: "I am absolutely thrilled and honored and generally upside down with excitement to come back home to @MSNBC to host the 9PM hour, beginning August 16th. LET'S DO THIS"
