CNN+ subscription: How can I get refunded?

CNN is a popular news network that was first founded in 1980 by Ted Turner and Reese Schonfeld.
In 2022, they attempted to break into the streaming world with CNN+, but it was shut down less than a month after its launch.
Why did CNN+ shut down?
In April 2022, CNN launched CNN+ but less than a month later, it was shut down due to WarnerMedia's merger with Discovery.
The merge formed Warner Bros. Discovery and with CNN joining that window, they will now operate under WarnerMedia's already established services.
“As we become Warner Bros. Discovery, CNN will be strongest as part of WBD’s streaming strategy which envisions news as an important part of a compelling broader offering along with sports, entertainment, and nonfiction content,” CNN CEO Chris Licht said in a statement, via .
“We have therefore made the decision to cease operations of CNN+ and focus our investment on CNN’s core news-gathering operations and in further building CNN Digital.

"This is not a decision about quality," the statement continued. "We appreciate all of the work, ambition, and creativity that went into building CNN+, an organization with terrific talent and compelling programming. But our customers and CNN will be best served with a simpler streaming choice.”
As a result of the network's decision, those who signed up for CNN+ subscriptions will now be refunded.
How can I get a refund?
After it was announced that CNN+ had been axed, the company said its customers "will receive prorated refunds of subscription fees."
As a subscriber, you do not have to do anything as CNN will process the cancellations.

What happened to CNN+ employees?
WarnerMedia reportedly spent more than $300million on the launch of CNN+, which also opened the doors to new jobs.
However, as a result of the shutdown, reports that hundreds might lose their jobs.
Licht said in an internal memo that "all CNN+ employees will continue to be paid and receive benefits for the next 90 days to explore opportunities at CNN, CNN Digital and elsewhere in the Warner Bros. Discovery family."
For those who do not find a job within the company during that time, Licht added that they will receive a minimum of six months of severance.
"It is not your fault that you had the rug pulled out from underneath you," Licht said. "Some of this was avoidable."
It was also announced that Andrew Morse, the executive vice president in charge of CNN+ and all of CNN's digital businesses, will be leaving the company.
In a statement, Morse said his nine years at CNN were an "incredible ride," but with the new changes, he decided it was time to part ways.

"As the company enters an exciting period of change, it's clear that the vision the new leadership has for the future is different than the one we've had. That's OK. That's all part of change," he said.
CNN Business notes that Licht wanted Morse to stay but respects his decision.
